DENTAL implants are considered to be the best and most comfortable tooth replacement solution. An implant is an artificial root that is anchored to the bone on which a crown is placed. A dental implant is actually a replacement for the root or roots of a patient. Like tooth roots, dental implants are secured in the jaw bone and are not visible once surgically placed and allow the bone to osseointegrate. They are used to secure crowns (the parts of teeth seen in the mouth), bridgework or dentures by a variety of means. They are made of titanium, which is light weight, strong and bio-compatible, which means that it is not rejected by body.
Types of Dental Implants: Endosteal implants: An endosteal implant is a traditional implant and is placed directly into the bone, just like a natural tooth root and can be used for various purposes. A single pin can be inserted through an existing tooth to strengthen and stabilize it. Endosteal implants can be placed if sufficient bone is available.
